CLASSIC ELEGANCE TIMES TWO.
Open or closed, the Opel Cascada has brilliance. The clear lines reflect total commitment to elegance and style. From the front it is unmistakably an Opel, but refined in every detail. Check out the sculpted, impressive grille, the expensive mesh below it, the signature LED Daylight Running Lights and stylish chrome. The discretely sculpted power bulge just subtly hints at the performance.
From the side with the top down the profile is long, sleek and uninterrupted. The soft top and rollover bars completely hidden. There are no gimmicks because none are needed. The sculptural nature is natural and refined. With the soft top raised the pillarless proportions and the material quality are impressive. A chrome strip delineates the roof from the bodywork, adding a classic “grande routier” touch. The long doors and graceful A pillars are not only stylish, they are practical making entry just that important bit easier. The choice of roof colors, from Black, Sweet Coffee, Malbec and Khaki Grey also adds another element to the image of overall style.
At the back high-tech 3D LED taillamps, visually connected by an elegant chrome bar, create a smoothly rounded profile and together with the high level brake light form an unmistakable light signature. The broad stable stance and clever proportions work perfectly together to round off the sleek lines.
THE FEELING OF PERFECTION.
Tactile, high quality materials, flowing surfaces and welcoming comfort. The Opel Cascada starts off looking good, gets better the closer you get and reveals the best when the door opens. The high quality, tactile Morrocana wrapping of dashboard and instrument panel with detail stitching immediately catches the eye. Everything is in the right place, the instruments are driver oriented, the center stack mounted controls fall easily to hand what pleases the eye is also pleasing to the senses.
Four individual deep contoured, spacious and supportive seats are waiting to be enjoyed. The Easy Entry system slides the front seats back at a mere touch, then just as quickly and easily back into place. High quality cloth or luxurious leather is yours to choose. The leather is detailed with saddle stitching adding yet another touch of luxury.
A PERFECT FIRST CAR.
Everyday usability and personal storage is often a problem area with convertibles. Not with the Opel Cascada. 13 easily reached and conveniently located storage possibilities provide order on board.
Then there is the luggage compartment that can take 280 to 380 liters with the roof open or closed. In addition it takes just a few seconds to use the FlexFold system to fold one or both rear seats to achieve up to 750 liters of space. The switches are conveniently located either side of the rear of the luggage compartment. When used an electric release system activates a spring-loaded mechanism that automatically folds the chosen seat back.
For extra security when the car is parked and locked with the top down, the backrests are locked in position and cannot be folded forward by the release on the backrests – neatly cutting off access to the trunk. And for even more security there is also a factory fitted security system that guards the whole car, even the wheels, against theft.
Soft Top Technology
SUNSHINE IN JUST 17 SECONDS.
Aerodynamically clean and refined, the soft top of the Opel Cascada fits perfectly to the pillarless style. It is made of premium quality fabric, features a heated glass rear screen and disappears completely below a high quality tonneau cover when lowered.
Operation is instinctively simple. The internal operating switch is located in the lower center console where the hand naturally drops onto it, allowing attention to be kept firmly focused on the road. External operation is just as easy. Key operated remote control is standard on all Cascada models.
Opening the roof takes just 17 seconds and closing it 19 seconds. It can be raised or lowered at up to 50 km/h. All windows can be opened or closed by operating the 4-windows-switch, integrated with the soft top operating switch.
TESTED AGAINST ALL EXTREMES.
The electro-hydraulic mechanism for the roof has been tested 15.000 times, corresponding to 10 years usage with 4 operations per day. As well as reducing the vehicle weight by approximately 100 kg in comparison to a hard top.
The fabric is a well-proven high quality material. It is car wash proof, needs no regular impregnation and is UV resistant and long-term color fast, to help keep the good looks.
Testing at up to 240 km/h has revealed a maximum distortion of just 3 cm. Also for the standard two-layer soft top worldwide testing at extreme temperatures has proved that it is absolutely weather proof and insulation is superior to a retractable hard top.
If you want an even quieter life, there is also an acoustic soft top option for even better noise and thermal comfort. This features acoustically enhanced exterior fabric and a special layer of polyester fleece between the top layer and the interior lining. This improves thermal insulation and further reduces the noise level in the cabin by up to a third.
SUPERIOR STIFFNESS, OUTSTANDING DYNAMICS.
Great looks deserve the finest driving dynamics. In terms of proven sophisticated chassis engineering, the Opel Cascada features Opel HiPerStrut front and WattsLink rear suspension. Significantly it also has very high torsional chassis/body stiffness to maximize the exceptional potential of this advanced suspension.
This torsional stiffness has been achieved by cross underbody strengthening elements and special high strength A pillars reinforced by high tensile tubular steel. Together with the outstanding structural rigidity this provides the basis for the precise steering, smooth ride and outstanding handling.
The overall rigidity together with the HiPerStrut front suspension is also a major factor in the high ride comfort and the ultra low levels of noise, vibration and harshness. Another plus point is that it enables the Opel Cascada to ride on 20 inch wheels without modification. At the rear the WattsLink provides optimum accurate tracking.
SMOOTH POWER, ENDLESS TORQUE.
Naturally the timeless good looks of the Opel Cascada also deserve outstanding, highly cultured performance. Star of the petrol engine range is the 1.6 Turbo ECOTEC® Direct Injection with 125 kW (170 hp) – part of a new engine generation from Opel. Here advanced design, metallurgy and technology that includes twin counter rotating harmonic balancing shafts have combined to deliver power and outstanding economy.
In developing this new engine generation Opel engineers have used new techniques in casting that allow up to 135 bar internal pressure. This enables excellent compression standards, resulting in outstanding efficiency. When this is combined with the advanced direct injection, fast reacting turbo technology and state of the art engine management the result is an engine which sets standards in smooth responsive performance.
For high performance diesel fans there is also the exceptional 2.0 BiTurbo CDTI. Here refined twin turbo technology and advanced common-rail technology with up to 8 injections per cycle and up to 2000 bar helps deliver an impressive 400 Nm torque together with 121 kW (165 hp).
WIDE ENGINE RANGE.
The engine choices that fit to the Opel Cascada include both petrol and diesel. There is the 1.4 Turbo ECOTEC® that delivers a highly invigorating 103 kW (140 hp) and up to 220 Nm torque with overboost. Or there’s also a 2.0 CDTI ECOTEC® diesel with a smooth 121 kW (165 hp) and 350 Nm torque.
The 6-speed automatic transmission is highly responsive. It has fewer moving parts than the predecessor, so reducing complexity and increasing efficiency. The result is a transmission that not only brings all the satisfaction of manual transmission to driving, it also intelligently adjusts individual driving styles, delivering more comfortable gear changing under all conditions.
All the engine and transmission options for the Opel Cascada are carefully chosen to match the flair and style while still delivering optimum economy. In addition Start/Stop System and ecoFLEX Drive Assist across the range ensure optimum eco-friendliness.
Fuel consumption in l/100 km: urban 9.3–6.3, extra-urban 5.9–4.6, combined 7.2–5.2; CO2 emission in g/km: combined 168–138.

Comfort & Infotainment
The long doors of the Opel Cascada make getting in and out especially easy for rear seat passengers, but mean that you may have to stretch to reach the seatbelts. That’s why the Opel Cascada offers and electric powered seatbelt presenter that simply slides forwards, carrying the belt buckle conveniently and comfortably to your hand.
It’s mounted at shoulder level behind the doors and the process is fully automatic. Closing the door and turning on the ignition activates it. Once the seatbelt has been fastened the presenter automatically retreats into its housing.
ELECTRIC EASY ENTRY.
Another high-class feature is the powered Easy Entry system to the rear seats. Micro switch activated, there is no button to press or catch to release. Just moving the seatback forward starts operation. The seat then slides forward at twice the normal adjustment speed, and just as effectively returns to the original position when the seatback is moved rearwards.
VENTILATED POWER ERGONOMIC SPORTS SEATS.
Medically certified multi-adjustable ergonomic sports seats offering the perfect mixture of sport and support fit perfectly to the nature of the Opel Cascada.
The power AGR ergonomic sports seats, in leather with 4-way pneumatic lumbar adjustment, just has to be experienced to be appreciated.
Adding power and leather to these seats ups the level of convenience. Choosing 3-speed seat ventilation in combination with leather is to opt for exceptional luxury – especially in hot or sticky weather. The switch is right there on the seat frame, the cooling comfort builds up in no time at all.
Direct or indirect sunlight can make leather uncomfortably hot. So fine leather with heat reflective option that lowers the heat build up is definitely good news. It’s available for the Opel Cascada with black leather, and can lower the surface temperature by up to 30 degrees in direct or indirect sunlight.
Electronic Climate Control lets both front passengers to choose and set their individual ideal temperature. Then sensors control it to remain exactly as chosen.
Another feature that really needs no explanation is the heated steering wheel. Not only does this take the sting out of cold mornings, it can make evening or night driving with the soft top down a whole lot more enjoyable.
Whatever your choice of music, or wherever your wheels take you, the Opel Cascada has the right infotainment package to fit. Crystal clear navigation that takes you to sights and places of interest, or great sound for personal streaming, it all ready and waiting.
The CD 300 features pre-selection for 3 x 6 stations, 4 x 20 W, 6 custom speakers, MP3, aux-in and steering wheel control. The CD 400 Plus has the same specifications as the CD 300, but comes with Graphic Info Display, 6×6 presets and Dynamic Sound Processor.
CD 600 IntelliLink
By seamlessly integrating your smartphone with IntelliLink technology into the car and displaying the most important functions on the high-definition 7” colour display, the CD 600 IntelliLink sets new standards for comfort, connectivity and safety. Make calls, audio-stream music via Bluetooth®, listen to incoming SMS or view pictures uploaded via USB – your hands always stay on the steering wheel with integrated controls. When connected via USB, Gracenote®, a music database, identifies artist, album and song titles and also helps you to manage your music collection. And if you opt for the Rear View Camera, the large display doubles as screen, making sure you can keep looking forward even when reversing.
Navi 950 IntelliLink
The top-of-the-line navigation system gives you all the advantages of the IntelliLink technology for extensive smartphone integration plus navigation with bird´s eye view in 3D and one-shot voice recognition for destination entry. The map software is stored internally for fast access and can be updated via USB anytime.
The Navi 650 has the same basic navigation features. For connection to your mobile, it can be optionally ordered with Bluetooth® for phone operation via steering wheel remote control.
ADAPTIVE FORWARD LIGHTING PLUS (AFL+).
Seeing your way is a major part of being safe and feeling good. AFL+ is all about how you see. It is currently considered one of the most competent light systems.
This system is permanently fed with all speed and steering angle data by the vehicle electronics and sensors. Even more sensors assess the light and weather conditions and monitor the preceding or oncoming traffic. Based upon this data the AFL+ controls the profile of the bi-xenon lights so you get optimal vision at all times and under all conditions.
One of the many advanced AFL+ functions is the High Beam Assist, which automatically switches the halogen lights between high and dipped beam. It is controlled via a special camera mounted behind the windscreen. This recognizes preceding or approaching traffic and whether or not the vehicle is in the town or country.
The generation II Opel Eye camera system of the Opel Cascada has 4 functions, all designed to make safety that much more positive and driving much more relaxed.
How many times have you missed a road sign? The Traffic Sign Assistant (TSA) helps ensure that you don’t miss any hazard or speed warnings. In addition to speed limits, the system also detects and displays signs related to temporary speed limits (snow, rain, etc.), displaying them right in front of you.
Opel Eye also monitors the lane marking lines for the Lane Departure Warning (LDW). This is instantly activated when the car crosses a line without signaling, instantly alerting you with an audible and optical warning.
The Following Distance Indication (FDI) measures the distance to the car ahead, letting you know via the central display screen if the distance becomes critical. Following another car too closely does not necessarily lead to an accident, but we think you will appreciate a system that helps to avoid tailgating tickets.
The Forward Collision Alert (FCA) gives visual and audible warning when a collision is likely. You can set it for different distances, a major advantage in poor light or bad weather conditions.
Especially useful on all multi-lane highways, is the Side Blind Spot Alert (SBSA). It uses side-mounted sensors to check if there is an obstructing vehicle in the inner or outside lane when you want to pull over. It continually monitors the blind spots on both sides and lights an LED in the inner or outer rear view mirror when a vehicle is in this area. If the indicator is used when a vehicle is in this problem zone the LED flashes. SBSA is active up to 140 km/h.
PARKING SAFELY AND PROTECTING THE PAINT.
The Opel Cascada looks good, so why risk spoiling it for a few moments lack of concentration or perhaps an unseen hazard? The rear view camera gives you a clear view of 130 degrees around the back. It is mounted high so you get a clear view that really helps judge distances. Just selecting reverse gear activates the camera and the image is displayed on the color information screen. You’ll be surprised at how easy it is to get out of the habit of turning in your seat every time you reverse.
Incidentally, on the subject of parking, the Advanced Park Assist quickly takes any hit and miss element out of parking. It simply calculates all of the steering move you need to make, and displays them graphically on the central screen. And, as you don’t have to let go of the steering wheel, so you are always in control.
Changing lanes is a time when a few seconds can make a massive difference. To protect against unseen problems the Side Blind Spot Alert uses sensors to cover the likely blind spots. When indicating to pull out or change lane an LED lights in the exterior mirror of the direction. If the system detects an approaching vehicle it begins to flash and a chime sounds as a warning.
STRENGTH IN DEPTH.
The Opel Cascada surrounds you with a rigid safety structure reinforced with extra body cross members. To this is attached all of the impact absorbing and load diffusion measures. The graceful windscreen pillars are press hardened and conceal hard rolled steel reinforcement bars that reach down below the doors. These have diagonal protective bars to prevent intrusion.
At the rear the rollover bars are anchored in the strongest part of the rear structure. Normally they stay elegantly out of sight. But if you ever need them they are ready to protect you in less time than it takes to blink, triggered by the airbag sensors.
REFINED PASSIVE SAFETY.
Full sized front airbags combined with oversized side airbags that add extra head protection are standard on every Opel Cascada. These are state of the art protection features, working in complete unison with all of the other safety measures to deliver maximum protective efficiency.
Other measures include double seatbelt pretensioners, deployed pyrotechnically and specially developed to hold you safely in the optimum protective position. The seat frames and mountings also play a significant safety role, as do Opel’s well-proven active headrests. These move upwards and forwards under impact to guard against whiplash and upper body injuries. Meanwhile at the other end of your body the equally well-proven Pedal Release System detaches the pedals under impact to guard against foot and lower leg injuries.
The alarm system for the Opel Cascada has been designed for all-round peace of mind. Any attempt to enter the vehicle will result in the lights flashing and the alarm sounding. The system carries its own back-up power supply and guards the complete vehicle and contents, including components and wheels.
